The city of Lampasas is seeking applications for the unexpired term of council member, Place 4.

To apply to serve on the Lampasas City Council, one must be at least 21 years old, a citizen, and a qualified voter of the state of Texas and city of Lampasas. In addition, applicants must have resided in the city for a period of 12 months preceding the date of appointment.

Applications will be accepted until May 31 at 5 p.m. Applications may be obtained from City Secretary Christina Marez at City Hall, 312 E. Third St.


The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet in regular session Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the school library at Eighth and Main streets.

The board will consider a Texas Association of School Boards policy update, a depository contract, budget amendments, the use of federal funds for the 2017-2018 school year, and student and activity insurance. Also on the agenda are consideration of a school calendar, reports from administrators and an item about personnel.


Poppy Day for the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 277 will take place Wednesday. Members of the auxiliary will distribute poppies in front of Wal- Mart and other locations in Lampasas.

Contributions will assist and provide multiple benefits to veterans.
