CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the April 19 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows.

Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 405, compared to 341 last sale and 50 at this time last year.

Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls $1-$2 lower.

Feeder cattle accounted for 86 percent. Slaughter cows and bulls accounted for 14 percent.

Steers: 200-300 lbs., $1.37-$2.30 lb.; 300-400 lbs., $1.60-$1.78 lb.; 400-500 lbs., $1.57-$1.77 lb.; 500-600 lbs., $1.42-$1.70 lb.; 600-700 lbs., $1.29-$1.53 lb.; 700-800 lbs., $1.16-$1.30 lb.

Heifers: 200-300 lbs., $1.96-$2.25 lb.; 300-400 lbs., $1.60-$1.90 lb.; 400-500 lbs., $1.47-$1.63 lb.; 500-600 lbs., $1.37-$1.58 lb.; 600-700 lbs., $1.29-$1.51 lb; 700-800 lbs., $1.13-$1.33 lb.

Slaughter cows: Under 800 lbs., $0.39-$0.45 lb.; 800- 1,100 lbs., $0.46-$0.67 lb.; 1,100-1,300 lbs., $0.68-$0.72 lb.

Slaughter bulls: 1,000- 1,300 lbs., $0.64-$0.70 lb.; 1,300-2,100 lbs., $0.75-$0.86 lb.
