CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Feb. 15 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows.

Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 115, compared to 312 last sale and 469 at this time last year.

Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady on a limited test. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher; slaughter bulls steady.

Feeder cattle accounted for 89 percent. Slaughter cows and bulls accounted for 11 percent.

Average price and top price follow.

Steers: 300-400 lbs., $1.51- $1.97 lb.; 400-500 lbs., $1.43- $1.61 lb.; 500-600 lbs., $1.29- $1.49 lb.; 600-700 lbs., no test; 700-800 lbs., no test.

Heifers: 300-400 lbs., $1.33-$1.53 lb.; 400-500 lbs., $1.24-$1.39 lb.; 500-600 lbs., $1.20-$1.31 lb.; 600-700 lbs., $1.08-$1.22 lb; 700-800 lbs., $0.90-$1.10 lb.

Slaughter cows: Under 800 lbs., no test; 800-1,100 lbs., no test; 1,100-1,300 lbs., $0.60-$0.71 lb.

Slaughter bulls: no test.
