Big winner



Braedon Raub, a Lampasas High School freshman and FFA member, was selected grand champion of the Supreme Market Steer Drive Friday at the San Antonio Livestock Show. Over the course of three days, 1,419 steers were exhibited and narrowed to 15 breed champions and 15 reserve breed champions. Each exhibitor in the grand drive received a $10,000 scholarship. Raub’s steer, “Beaner,” qualifed for the Junior Market Steer Auction, and it sold for a show record of $125,000. Raub, pictured at center with his steer, was accompanied by his parents, Darryl and Mary Raub, and his brothers, Dawson and Kaeson.
