LMS closes out volleyball season with district loss

The Lampasas Middle School volleyball teams closed out the 2013 season Monday with losses across the board to Brownwood.

The seventh-grade “B” team was defeated 14-25, 20-25. In the seventh-grade “A” game, Lampasas lost 24-26, 7-25.

The Lady Badgers dropped the eighth-grade “B” game 16-25, 22- 25, and the LMS eighth-grade “A” team fell 25-27, 19-25.

“This was a great group of girls to work with this season,” Lady Badgers’ coach Beth Jenkins said of her players. “Even though our win-loss records don’t reflect it, the girls worked very hard all season to learn the basic skills, and offensive and defensive sets in volleyball. They have a good foundation to take with them into next year.

“We just have to keep working to get better,” Jenkins said. “They have the ability and desire to make that happen.”
