Baseball, softball teams fall to Liberty Hill

Both the Lampasas baseball and softball teams lost to Liberty Hill Tuesday night.

The Badgers lost 9-1 to the Panthers. Highlights for Lampasas were provided by Cutter Estep, who went 1-3 and knocked in the only Badger run. Ralph Marez added a triple to finish 1-3. Trent Holloman and Collin Bowen added singles to finish the evening at 1-3 as well.

Losing pitcher was Ryan Baxter, who gave up four runs in the first two innings on some good offense by the Panthers.

Justin Sooter and Michael Metcalf also pitched in the game.

Meanwhile, the Lady Badger softball team (7-16) lost to Liberty Hill 16-0.

The game – which ended in the fourth inning due to the run rule – was dominated by the Lady Panthers from the very beginning, as Liberty Hill scored seven runs in both the first and third innings.

Blake Webb was the only Lady Badger to muster a hit in the game.

The teams traveled to Burnet last night, but results were not available by press time.
