Baseball

The Lampasas baseball team (3-18, 1-6) lost to Salado 10-0 on Friday.

Ryan Baxter pitched 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs and nine hits.

Levi Malone had two hits, both singles, in the game.

The Badgers travel to Liberty Hill tonight.

LMS Golf

The Lampasas Middle School golf teams recently competed in the Copperas Cove Invitational Tournament. The girls’ team consisting of Abbie Carson, Marlee Dewald, Destiny Carr, Presli Procter and Taylor Florio finished in first place, while Carson placed second overall individually.

The boys’ team consisting of Brady Berry, Caleb O’Connor, Zach Cambon, Ethan Hupp and Chance Mason finished in third place.

The teams begin district play on Thursday at Delaware Springs in Burnet.

Golf Tourney

First United Methodist Church of Lampasas will sponsor a golf outing Saturday at Hancock Park Golf Course to raise funds for Imagine No Malaria, a worldwide disease eradication campaign.

Imagine No Malaria seeks to eliminate the disease by 2015 by delivering mosquito nets to places with a high incidence of malaria.

A round of golf -- including a cart -- will cost $35. Additional contributions will be accepted at the event.

Sign-up will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the golf course pro shop. For additional information, contact Harry Hollister at 556-3628.
