The Lampasas baseball team went 1-3 over the weekend.
The Badgers lost in their first game to Glen Rose 12-0 in five innings. Micah Harry had one double. The Badgers then defeated Gatesville 6-4, with Justin Sooter as the winning pitcher. Cullen Singleton had two RBI’s.
The Badgers then lost two games in a doubleheader with Brownwood, 20-12 in the first game and 4-1 in the second game. In the first game, Michael Metcalf had two RBI’s. The Badgers host Llano on Friday.
The Lampasas softball team defeated Marble Falls 2-1 on Thursday.
Kady Crow led the Lady Badgers on the mound with three strikeouts. In addition, seniors Tealey Farquhar and Hadley Brown each had two hits.
Harold Harton’s “Gun Talk” column in last Tuesday’s edition discussed a new interest in suppressors and a surge in sales.
Wording in the column should have said the increase in sales has been in spite of an approximate six-month wait and “several hundred dollars.”
Harton clarified: “The only fee is the required federal tax certificate, which is $200. This is a one-time fee. The rest of the costs involved is the cost of the suppressor, which varies from about $300 up.”
