Financial Literacy Festival planned Tuesday at LCHEC
The Lampasas County Higher Education Center's first Financial Literacy Festival is Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. for those who plan to seek financial aid to attend college.
There will be guest speakers and bilingual presentations, children’s activities, and informational booths and workshops led by companies and organizations that offer financial services and advice.
Representatives from several colleges will discuss the FAFSA (FreeApplication for Federal Student Aid), scholarships, and other opportunities for financing college.
Other topics will include saving for college, college loans, adult education, education programs and services available to soldiers and their families, general fincancial aid, VA education benefits, free enterprise, bankruptcy, resources for hard times, credit management, household budgeting, insurance, investments, current tax information, retirement planning, home loans, credit score management and more.
There will be free pizza, stories and games for kids, door prizes and raffles to benefit the scholarship fund. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Prizes have been donated by area businesses.
