CASA plans workshop on domestic violence

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area and the Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center will co-host a workshop "What child abuse personnel must know about domestic violence" on Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Marble Falls United Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet in Marble Falls (next to HEB).

Jan Langbein, former senior policy adviser to the director of the United States Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women and executive director of the Genesis Women's Shelter, an agency of Shelter Ministries of Dallas, will be the guest speaker.

The workshop is open to the public, but since seating is limited, please contact CASA by Wednesday to reserve a seat.

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area is a non-profit organization that speaks up for the best interest of abused and neglected children in Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano and San Saba counties.

CASA recruits and trains volunteers to provide direct services to children after they have been removed from their home by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to abuse or neglect.
