Banks-Barksdale
Brianna and Steven Barksdale Brianna Marie Banks became the bride of Steven James Barksdale in a June 4, 2011, ceremony at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo.
Pastor Ryan Palmer officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Banks of Springfield, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Landers Jr. of Lampasas, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Banks of Austin.
The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Barksdale of Springfield.
The church sanctuary was decorated with white roses, aqua lilies, white orchids, white pearls, aqua tulle and white satin.
White candles on aqua satin tables provided the backdrop for the ceremony.
Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Bob Bilyeu, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father to the traditional "Wedding March."
The couple created a unity sand sculpture of aqua and white sand in a vase engraved for their wedding day.
During the pouring of the unity sand, Devin Cogdill sang "When I Say I Do."
The bride wore a full- length strapless gown of pearl-white satin with a full ballroom skirt and train enhanced by hand- sewn pin- up gathers.
A pearl necklace and multiplestrand pearl bracelet accented the bride's gown.
She wore a shoulder-length veil edged in pearl-white satin.
To complement her gown, the bride carried a bouquet of white lilies, roses and orchids.
Maid of honor was Brooke Lawrence of Springfield.
Bridesmaids were Kari Wooderson of Jefferson City, Mo.; Sara Weisel of Lawrence, Kan., cousin of the groom; Haley Landers of Houston, cousin of the bride; and Marissa Banks and Aubrey Banks, the bride's sisters, of Springfield.
Attendants wore black satin kneelength dresses with skirts similar to the bride's. They wore aqua and pearl bracelets and carried bouquets of white roses and lilies accented by aqua curls and wrapped with aqua satin ribbon with white pearls.
Amelia Hendley of Pflugerville was flower girl. She wore a floor-length gown of aqua satin with a skirt similar to the bride's. It was accented with a pink sash. She carried a white basket wrapped in aqua tulle.
Best man was Adam Barksdale, brother of the groom, of Springfield.
Groomsmen were Nathan Aldrich, Zach Mustain and Keelan Day, all of Springfield; Jared Wooderson of Jefferson City; and Eric Thuston of Nixa, Mo.
Ushers were Tyler Landers of Houston, cousin of the bride; Jimmy Ballard of St. Louis, Mo.; and John Vassilaros and Aaron Jackson, both of Springfield.
Ring bearer was Joel Hendley of Pflugerville.
Rachel Kolb and Rachel Francka of Springfield registered guests on scrapbook pages decorated with engagement pictures of the bride and groom.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Northview Ballroom in Doling Park in Springfield, highlighted by a nacho bar and a dance.
The ballroom was decorated with aqua and black tulle, aqua taffeta and black satin.
The bride's square three-tier cake was accented with a narrow black satin ribbon cascading from the top of the cake, bordered by white icing, dividing the left third of the cake, which was iced in white.
The right two-thirds of the cake was iced in aqua with white scrollwork and the couple's initials in black, topped with a china bride and groom.
The groom's cake was in the shape of a huge raw steak, complete with a USDA stamp and served from a charcoal grill.
A Texas reception was held in Georgetown the week after the wedding at the atrium of First Baptist Church.
