Burn ban lifted temporarily
Thanks to recent rains, County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse has suspended the countywide ban on outdoor burning until Thursday at 6 p.m.
Although property owners may burn brush piles or other materials in unincorporated areas of the county, county and fire officials urge people to exercise caution, particularly when working around high grass. Officials also discourage burning on dry, windy days, when the wildfire risk is elevated.
