Local students continue stock show participation

Lampasas students did well in weekend heifer and gilt show competitions at the Fort Worth Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Blayze Bierschwale placed first Sunday with his junior Maine-Anjou breeding heifer, and Lometa's Ethan Saunders finished eighth with his Angus heifer.

On Saturday, Maci Procter competed with her Hereford breeding heifer, placing first in her class.

The breeding swine show at Fort Worth began Sunday, and Kleg Kennedy won the reserve championship for his Hampshire breeding gilt.

Crosby Liverman placed seventh with her Chester White gilt, and Hope Moseley also competed with her Berkshire gilt.

Competition continued Monday with Lampasas students competing in the Duroc, Landrace, Black OPB, and commercial swine show competition, while other FFA members competed in the breeding heifer competition featuring Simbrah and Charolais breeding heifer shows.
