Herb Society shares variety of foods
Central Texas Herb Society met Jan. 21 at the Charlene Nash home west of Lampasas.
Twelve members were present, including new member Mary Howell.
Before the business meeting, everyone enjoyed a variety of foods prepared by members.
In the absence of the president, Gitta Kuhlmann, the vice president, Connie Madison, presided.
Officers for 2012 were elected, and program suggestions for the year were considered.
New officers include Arlene Wingo, president; Ms. Madison, vice president; Mrs. Nash, secretary and reporter; and Christine Warren, treasurer.
A letter from longtime member Josie Overton was read to members. Mrs. Overton said she is moving to Marble Falls, and she thanked members for their support and friendship through the years.
Possible programs were discussed using pictures and news articles from past meetings.
Next meeting is Feb. 18 at Mrs. Howell's home in Copperas Cove. She will present a program on saffron.
After the meeting, some of the members stayed to play dominoes.
