Mrs. Arthur “Fred” Gabriel, nee Iva Spivey, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Lockhart died Aug. 21, 2010, in the Knopp Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 94.

Funeral services were Aug. 25 in the McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. Interment and graveside services were at the Bateman Cemetery.

Mrs. Gabriel was born April 1, 1916 in Lampasas to James and Birtie Groce Spivey.

She married Mr. Gabriel on May 27, 1939 in Lampasas. He preceded her in death, as did her siblings Leonard “Bob” Spivey, Howard Spivey, Edith Green and Letha Jones.

Survivors are two sons, Tally Gabriel of Red Rock, and Ernie and Barbara Gabriel of Harper; three grandchildren, Jana and Tomey Wieberg of Corpus Christi, Kelly and Nicole Gabriel of Midland, and Jack Gabriel of San Angelo; and three great-grandchildren, Tomey Wieberg, Garrison and Ava Gabriel.
