Jesse James Rivera of Lampasas died Aug. 25, 2010, at Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital in Temple at the age of 55.

Graveside services were Aug. 28 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating.

Mr. Rivera was born Dec. 28, 1954 in Corpus Christi, the son of Jesus Rivera and Rosa Rangel Rivera.

He graduated from Floyd H. Moody High School in Corpus Christi and later worked as a dietary service manager.

Mr. Rivera’s passion was music. He played trumpet professionally for many years.

He married Lori DelaCruz on May 16, 1981.

He also was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas and had been a resident of the city for 29 years.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; five sons, Nick Rivera, Noe Rivera, Jacob Rivera, Jason Rivera and Josh Rivera, all of Lampasas; and two grandchildren, Levi James and Presley Ann.

Additional family members live in Corpus Christi.

Mr. Rivera was preceded in death by his father.
