DRT officers attend workshop

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas District V Workshop was held Aug. 14 at the Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan. Those who attended from the local Oran Milo Roberts chapter were president Diane Davis, treasurer Judy Smith and chaplain June Davis.

District representative Lorena Buster was in charge of the meeting, hosted by the Robert Henry chapter of Bryan.

Patti Atkins, president general of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, headed a group of officers who presented reports on their respective work. Five district representatives reported on their districts, and 12 of the 14 District V chapter presidents gave reports.

After a salad lunch during which door prizes were awarded, breakout sessions offered more detailed information to chapter presidents, treasurers and registrars.

Clair Lillie, treasurer of the Robert Henry chapter, was elected District V representative for 2011-13. Sixty eligible voters were present.
