BREAKING NEWS: City receives $2 million grant to build solar power facility
Project approved by Lampasas City Council in 4-3 vote
The State Energy Conservation Office announced Friday that Lampasas has been awarded a $2 million grant to construct a solar energy facility.
A power-generating site -- which will use photovoltaic panels to generate as much as 4 percent of the electricity the city consumes, City Manager Michael Stoldt said at a recent Lampasas City Council meeting -- will be built at a former city dump off Old Georgetown Road.
