Swim season
I would like to thank the Lampasas City Council, Micky Tower and Lynn Pillans for a wonderful swim season at the historic Hancock Free-Flow Swim Pool.
For the Hancock Springs pool to be successful, there are three major ingredients: a clean pool, friendly lifeguards and staff, and hot days. This summer was successful, but too short.
Thank you to lifeguards Melvin Baptiste, Jacob Maceyra, Richie Maceyra, Nicole Sales, Alex Montgomery, Sean Beatty, Meredith Lane, Samantha Jones, Justin Henderson, Frank James, MaKayla Valles-Donaldson, Colter Harbin, Chance Clark, Michelle Benton, Katie Honea, Aaron Reyna, Edward Hall and Amanda Miller.
A special thanks to Darby Maceyra for being a lifeguard plus caring so well for the grounds around the Hancock Pool. Also, a special thanks to Kate Bloomfield for greeting swimmers and being our unofficial Hancock Springs cool pool hostess.
The Hancock Springs pool will be 100 years old next year, and a big 100-year birthday party celebration is being planned. I hope the whole town of Lampasas and our out-of-town swimming guests will celebrate this historic event.
