Funeral services were Aug. 19, 2010 at the Lometa Church of Christ for Paul Gordon Slagle, 56, of Leander. He died Aug. 17 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Minister Darnell Boyd officiated the services.

Mr. Slagle was born at Fort Hood on Dec. 2, 1953, the son of Graham Claude Slagle and Nancy Pickett Slagle. He was a construction superintendent.

He grew up in Lometa and had been a resident of Leander and Liberty Hill for the last 23 years. Mr. Slagle was a member of the Church of Christ.

His survivors include a son, Wade Slagle and wife Lacye of Lampasas; two sisters, Judy Slagle of Alvarado and Marcia Dozier of Desoto, Kansas; brother Tom Slagle of Lubbock; his parents of Lometa; six grandchildren, Rowdy, Aspen, Ashley, Montana, Harlee and Pagen; one great-grandchild, Kendra; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (melanoma specific).
