I want to commend Joe Rushing for writing the story about his World War II experiences and the Dispatch Record for publishing it in the Aug. 6 edition. Reading it widen my knowledge of history.

I hope other veterans will write about their wartime experiences, if not for publication then for their families. I would be interested in reading more of their stories. We must not forget these people who sacrificed their personal ambitions to serve our country.
