Artifacts Show set for Saturday

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Indian Artifacts Show Saturday at AMVETS Post 80, 300 U.S. Highway 281 South.

The event -- which increases in scope each year -- brings hundreds of visitors to the community.

Hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Admission is $2 for adults. Children under 12 will be admitted free.

The show provides an opportunity for vendors and exhibitors from all over Texas and nearby states to showcase their archeological collections and to share their expertise with other collectors and history buffs.

Participants will buy, sell, trade and exhibit their Indian artifacts.

Among the many exhibits will be pendants, pottery, ceramics, points, tips, decorations, axes and other artifacts from earliest Indian times -- paleo-Indian -- to items from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Vendors and exhibitors interested in booth space may contact the chamber at 556- 5172 or toll-free at (866) 556- 5172 or visit the Web site at www.lampasaschamber.org.

Food and drink concessions will be available.
