Fund-raising event for Lometa resident scheduled for Saturday
The friends of “Let’s Help Lori Walk Again” -- an organization dedicated to assisting Lometa resident Lori Watson in her battle with multiple sclerosis -- is holding a fund-raising event Saturday.
A benefit barbecue cook-off, dance, auction and raffle will be conducted at the Lampasas VFW hall by the cattle auction barn. Backroads will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Additionally, former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro cornerback Everson Walls will make an appearance from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for pictures and to sign autographs.
Barbecue plates will be served beginning at 3 p.m. with raffle drawings starting at 4 p.m. followed by the auction at 4:30 p.m.
Ms. Watson was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004 and has been confined to a wheelchair since.
All contributions will go toward her medical expenses. Admission is free except for the dance.
