Mr. Hopkins
Funeral services for Harold “Hoppy” L. Hopkins, 85, of Copperas Cove were Aug. 2, 2010, at the Church of Christ in Copperas Cove. Burial was at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Hopkins died July 29 at a Killeen hospital.
He was born July 27, 1925, in Wichita, Kan., to John Harrison and Mabel Ethel Reed Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins married Helen Elizabeth Paris on Nov. 25, 1948, in Wichita.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a maintenance mechanic most of his life.
Mr. Hopkins lived in the area for the past two years, moving from Golden, Colo., where he had resided for 38 years.
He was a member of HIMS of Praise choir.
Survivors include his wife of Copperas Cove; two sons, Michael Neil Hopkins of Wichita, and Matthew Joel Hopkins of North Glenn, Colo.; five daughters, Heather Louise Copeland, Alicia Faye Hopkins, Patricia Lea Prewit and Faith Ellen Mittman, all of Copperas Cove, and Vanessa Ann Hebb of North Glen; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
