As the temperature climbs, summer vacations are under way, but the American Red Cross reminds residents that the need for blood never takes a vacation.

The next American Red Cross blood drive is Aug. 2 from 12:30- 6:30 p.m. at AMVETS Post 80.

Donors should be in general good health, be a minimum of 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.
