–Jack Delvin Luge Sr.–
Jack Delvin Luge Sr. “The Barber” was born in Decatur, Ill., and grew up in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he was one of Arizona’s youngest barbers. He retired five years ago from his Papago Plaza Barber Shop.
He then moved with his wife Myrna of 50 years to Lampasas, Texas, where he opened a one-man chair old-fashioned barber shop off Key Avenue. It wasn’t long before Lampasas became his new home. He was welcomed graciously by the community and was loved by many.
Jack passed away July 16, 2010, at Temple’s Scott & White Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest next to his youngest daughter Lisa Marie Luge at East Resthaven Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz., on July 23rd, 2010.
Jack D. Luge Sr. was preceded in death by daughter Lisa Marie Luge, grandson Gaven James Luge and brother Ron Luge. He is survived by his wife Myrna Kathryn Luge of Hamilton, Texas; brothers Harry Luge of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Tom Luge of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter Christine Deann Luge of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son Jack D. Luge Jr. and Destri of Ennis, Texas; daughter LaDonna Dray and David of Goldthwaite; and grandchildren Ashley Holguin of San Antonio, Texas, Jose Holguin of Tucson, Ariz., Hayden and Hannah Luge of Ennis, Texas, and Sean Pine of Colorado.
