SOccER
The Lampasas Soccer Association will be conducting an “E” license coaching course Aug. 13-15 at Lampasas Middle School and the Gavin Garrett Soccer Park.
There are no prerequisites, but individuals must email the following information to jerry. barbero@leanderisd.org: Name, email address, phone number, address, organization and club currently coaching, and driver’s licence number.
For the course, participants will need to bring a ball, water, proper soccer equipment, and writing utensil.
All candidates must complete the required take-home tests on laws, and care and prevention available at www.USSoccer. com.
Cost for the course is $85 payable to Lampasas Soccer Association (2948 County Road 3430, Lampasas, TX, 76550). Payment must be received by July 28.
CROss
COUNTRY
Workouts for the Lampasas High School cross country team begin Aug. 2 at 7 a.m.
Team members will meet at the LHS fieldhouse.
Once the initial workout is complete at approximately 8:30 a.m., there will be a short meeting to discuss the upcoming season and practice schedule.
Participants must bring workout clothes and running shoes, and should have all necessary paperwork filed with Jan Brister, LHS athletic trainer.
If team members have an issue with conflicting football or volleyball practices, they need to contact head coach Jimmie Cain immediately.

FOOTBALL
The Badgers’ football coaching staff and their wives will be sponsoring Football 102 -- a football-related seminar exclusively for women -- August 2 at 6:30 p.m. inside the LHS cafeteria.
In addition to having a meal, door prizes and enterainment, motivational speaker Carolyn Allen -- wife of Randy Allen, Highland Park High School athletic director and head football coach -- will address the audience.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the Lampasas Dispatch Record office, Cattles Pharmacy and Badger Tracks or from Vickie McQueen (512- 921-2471).
Anyone interested in donating a door prize may also contact Vickie McQueen.
GOLF
A golf tournament benefiting the LHS golf program will be held at Delaware Springs Golf Course Aug. 8 at 1 p.m.
Entry fee for the twoperson shamble-style event, a combination of scramble and stroke play, is $50 per person and includes cart, green fees and dinner.
Hole sponsorships are $100.

SOFTBALL
The Hotter-N-Hades one-day coed softball tournament will be held Saturday at Johnson Park in Marble Falls.
Registration for the fundraising event is still open, and the cost is $175 per team.
