COUNTRY
Workouts for the Lampasas High School cross country team begin Aug. 2 at 7 a.m.
Team members will meet at the LHS fieldhouse.
Once the initial workout is complete at approximately 8:30 a.m., there will be a short meeting to discuss the upcoming season and practice schedule.
Participants must bring workout clothes and running shoes, and should have all necessary paperwork filed with Jan Brister, LHS athletic trainer.
If team members have an issue with conflicting football or volleyball practices, they need to contact head coach Jimmie Cain immediately.

GOLF
A golf tournament benefiting the LHS golf program will be held at Delaware Springs Golf Course Aug. 8 at 1 p.m.
Entry fee for the two-person shamble-style event, a combination of scramble and stroke play, is $50 per person and includes cart, green fees and dinner.
Hole sponsorships are $100.

SOCCER
The Lampasas Soccer Association is registering players for the upcoming fall season.
Currently, LSA is accepting players in the U-12 boys, U-14 boys, U-16 boys and U-19 girls, but more teams could be added if enough players register.
The U-14 boys’ team (Force 96) will hold a primary and an alternate two-day tryout for interested players.
Tryouts will be held at the Gavin Garrett Soccer Park with the primary session scheduled for Tuesday- Thursday (6-8 p.m.) and the alternate session set for July 27-29 (6-8 p.m.).
LSA teams compete in the Capitol Area Youth Soccer Association and travel throughout Central Texas.

SOFTBALL
The Hotter-N-Hades one-day coed softball tournament will be held July 24 at Johnson Park in Marble Falls.
Registration for the fundraising event is still open, and the cost is $175 per team.

NRA
The Friends of NRA meeting planned for Friday night is rescheduled to July 22 at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Lampasas.
Gayle Carter Cook, the South Texas field representative, will conduct the meeting.
Anyone interested in the NRA and preserving Second Amendment rights is invited to the meeting.
