Four members of the 2009-2010 Lampasas High School Flames Dance Team have been selected as members of two college dance teams.

Marisa Garner and Jessica Jazdyk will attend Trinity Valley College as Cardettes, while Sarah Franklin and Bailey Hyatt have earned spots on the Cisco Junior College Wrangler Belle Dance Team.

Miss Garner, the daughter of Seleena Weatherhead, served as co-colonel of the Flames last year, and was a four-year member of the team.

Miss Jazdyk, the daughter of Stan and Tami Ott, was a three-year Flames member and served one year as social officer.

Miss Franklin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary W. Franklin, was a three-year team member and so- cial officer for one year.

Miss Hyatt, the daughter of Glenn and Carrie Hyatt, was a Flame for one year.

Each girl received scholarships to aid tuition at their respective colleges.

Kelly Payne, Flames director, said this marks the first year in recent history that so many Flames have opted after high school graduation to continue to dance while in college.

“I am very proud of the accomplishments of the team this year, and specifically, these young women who have chosen to continue to perform. It takes skill and dedication to compete at the college level, and these young ladies have set a really good example for the Flames to follow.”
