The Badgers were unable to reach the Red Bull Game Breakers Finals after losing two games to open the 7 on 7 qualifying tournament Friday.

Held at Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Lampasas lost to Austin High 34-8 before being eliminated with a 36-14 loss to Hutto.

Round Rock was the last of six regional qualifying destinations (New Orleans, Stllwater, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio) in the tournament.

Regional qualifiers advance to the finals at the Cotton Bowl on June 25.

The Badgers will attempt to qualify for the state 7 on 7 tournament Saturday at Brownwood.

The state tournament will be held July 8-9 at Texas A&M University.

GOLF

The Burnet Police Department is hosting a golf tournament Friday at the Delaware Springs Golf Course.

All proceeds benefit the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble, beginning with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per player.
