Cheering on
In what is a first for Lampasas High School cheerleading coach Sherry Gillen, three recent LHS grads tried out and made cheer squads at the respective colleges they plan to attend in the fall. Alyssa Castle, left, will cheer at Howard Payne University in Brownwood; Chelsea Ragland, center, will be part of the cheer squad at Tarleton State University in Stephenville; and Raven Morley plans to cheer at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Though Ms. Gillen has coached others through the years who have gone on to cheer at colleges, including Brentney Feild at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Jobie Petronis at Hardin-Simmons University and Tyler Garner at Texas Tech University, she has not had three make college-level squads in the same year.
