GOLF

The Texas Junior Golf Academy is forming summer classes in the Lampasas, Kempner and Copperas Cove areas.

Beginner classes are scheduled for June 21-23, intermediate classes will be July 19-22 and advanced classes are set for August 9-12.

The Burnet Police Department is hosting a golf tournament June 25 at the Delaware Springs Golf Course.

All proceeds benefit the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble, beginning with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per player and includes green fees, carts, range balls, dinner and prizes.

Sponsorships are availabe at a cost of $200 and $75.`

RODEO

The ninth annual Lampasas County Riata Roundup Rodeo will be held tonight and Saturday at Lometa Regional Park beginning at 8 p.m. each night.

Produced by the Flying C Rodeo Co., the event is UPRA/CPRA sanctioned.

Admission Friday is $10 for adults, and $6 with a military ID card. Kids 12 and under will get in free with a parent.

On Saturday, admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.

The Cowgirl Chicks will open the event each night.

Jake Hooker will highlight a free dance Saturday night. Make table reservations by phoning the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce at 556-5172.

SOFTBALL

The Krush Hitting Company will be holding a three-day camp beginning Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at Turner Park.

Cost is $99 and is open to boys and girls ages eight to 18. Each camper will be grouped with same age players.

SWIMMING

Hanna Springs Swimming Pool is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 1-6 p.m.

Hancock Springs Free-flow Swim Area hours are Thursday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 1-6 p.m.

Both pools are closed Mondays for maintenance.

Daily rate is $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for seniors (55 and older) and children 3-12.

Season passes, swim lessons, water aerobics and pool parties are also available.

VICTORY BOWL

The Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes second annual Super CenTex Victory Bowl will be replayed on KWTX News 10, the Waco CBS affiliate, Sunday from 2-4:30 p.m.

Beginning Monday, the Victory Bowl replay can be seen on Time Warner Cable’s Central Texas on Demand Channel 200. It is free for all Time Warner customers, and the cable company will donate $2 per view to the Heart of Texas FCA ministry.

The Victory Bowl was won by the Red Team who overcame a 14-point deficit to earn a 20-14 overtime victory at Waco ISD Stadium

Over 3,500 people were in attendance for the senior all-star game.
