The Red Team, however, would not allow it.

Lampasas graduates and Blue Team members Brandon Abbott, Rush Seaver, cheerleader Chelsea Ragland and Badgers’ Head Football Coach Joey McQueen all participated in the second annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Super CenTex Victory Bowl Saturday where they watched their team’s 14-point lead evaporate in the fourth quarter.

The Red Team mounted a furious comeback in the final period, scoring two touchdowns and almost sealing the victory in regulation on a field goal.

But the kick missed, and the teams went into overtime tied at 14-14.

In the extra period, the Red Team converted two fourth downs, with the second resulting in a touchdown to put it up 20-14.

The Blue Team had an opportunity to knot up the score, but Waco University quarterback Randy Price fumbled as he dived for the end zone, and the Red Team recovered the ball to end game.

Reserved for senior players only, the game marks the conclusion of the high school careers of Seaver, Abbott and Ragland.

All three will take their skills to the next level, however.

Seaver is set to attend Angelo State University on a football scholarship, and Abbott will play at Hardin-Simmons University.

Ragland will be a member of the cheerleading team at Tarleton State University.
