Police investigating incident at Kathie Lane
Police are investigating an incident Wednesday night at a Kathie Lane residence, where a resident is believed to have used pepper spray in self-defense on a teenager as he fled from the property.
Police responded at 7:48 p.m. to a call about an unknown person in the back yard of the residence. The caller, a 24-year-old woman, had come home and had walked toward her garage door when she found a white male, about 14 years old, carrying a green or blue book bag and exiting the fenced back yard of the residence.
The woman did not recognize the teenager, and the reason he was at the residence was not known when police issued a press release Wednesday night.
When the suspect saw the resident he tried to escape by running toward the front yard of the residence, according to police reports. His escape route took him toward the resident, who is believed to have sprayed the male in the face with pepper spray.
Consequently, investigators believe the suspect might have been temporarily unable to see and may have had bloodshot eyes and/or red, irritated skin. The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans. He had short black hair and a large mole on his right cheek.
Anyone with information about the suspect or any other information that might be helpful in the investigation is encouraged to phone the Lampasas Police Department at 556-3644.
