Funeral services for Felix Morua Sr., 63, of Lampasas were June 14, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Pedro Castillo officiating. Rosary was recited June 13, 2010, at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Morua died June 11, 2010.

He was born Dec. 11, 1946, in Lampasas to Julio Morua Sr. and Petura Gereua Morua.

He joined the Marines on Oct. 2, 1967, and married Stella Acosta Jan. 25, 1975, in Lampasas. Mr. Morua worked as a butcher.

Diagnosed with multiple myeloma caused by Agent Orange, Mr. Morua battled cancer for eight years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. Morua loved to grow gardens of peppers and tomatoes, and also enjoyed raising chickens.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; three sons, Felix Morua Jr. and wife Roberta, Fabian Morua, and Fidel Morua and wife Kristi, all of Lampasas; daughter Catina Morua of Stephenville; stepmother Acencion Morua of Goldthwaite; sister Azucena Tovar and husband Martin of Evant; brother Julio Morua Jr. and wife Janie of Evant; 10 grandchildren, Jarren, Anthony, Madisyn, Olivia, Felix III, Alex, Marcus, Valentina, Patrick and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Morua was preceded in death by his parents.
