Badgers win first two games of Hill Country Passing League play
After missing the first week of action due to Lampasas High School’s finals tests, the Badgers got their first taste of 7 on 7 action in the Hill Country Passing League.
Despite being a week behind the other teams, the Badgers posted a 2-1 record in their initial showing.
Lampasas cruised past Llano by 26 points, 32-6, and beat Burnet 26-13 before suffering their lone loss to Marble Falls’ Purple team. The Mustangs won 41-14.
The Badgers have one more week and three more games to perfect their performance before the four participating teams -- Lampasas, Llano, Burnet and host school Marble Falls -- are seeded for tournament play. Seeding will be determined by the games played June 22.
Lampasas’ junior varsity team posted a perfect record of 3-0 in their first appearance in Marble Falls.
After defeating the home team 19-9, the Badgers picked up a narrow two-point victory over Faith Academy, 33-31, and then beat Llano 25-14.
The participating junior varsity teams will also determine seedings for a season-ending tournament on June 22.
Junior varsity teams from Marble Falls, Burnet, Llano, Faith Academy and Lampasas are all competing in the league
