SOFTBALL

The Batgirls 16-U fastpitch softball organization will hold open tryouts for the late summer and upcoming fall/ winter seasons Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lampasas Middle School softball field.

All positions are open.

Depending on the turnout, a second tryout might be scheduled. In case of inclement weather, the tryouts will be rescheduled.

The Batgirls are also looking for volunteers interested in serving as assistant coaches. While experience with softball is helpful, it is not necessary.

MOTOR SPORTS

The Gustine Rodeo Club will host the second-annual Slingin’ Dirt-n-Blowin’ Smoke Truck and Tractor Pull June 19 at the Gustine rodeo grounds.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Open registration for the event is $20 per hook-up.
