Robert Mack Gill Jr., 78, of Nix died May 25, 2010, at a Temple hospital.

Funeral services are May 28 at 1 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel, followed by burial at Nix Cemetery.

Mr. Gill was born March 3, 1932, in Tenaha, the son of Robert Mack Gill Sr. and Bessie Eva Bowers Gill.

He graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree and later became a certified professional accountant.

Mr. Gill ran McMorris Ford in Austin for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He married Barbara Mullican in 1952.

Mr. Gill was a member of American Legion Post 0116 and a life member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. While living in Austin, he was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Nix; three daughters, Marlene Gill and Mary Gill, both of Austin, and Melinda Wright of Lampasas; one son, Danny Gill of Evant; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Bisby of Houston; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to any military charity.
