In their last season before dropping down to Class 3A, every Lady Badger varsity softball player landed on the District 25-4A All- District List with three members picking up individual honors.

Juniors Kat Strickland and Taylor Holloman were named offensive and defensive player of the year, respectively, while firstyear head coach Chris Munoz received the district’s coach of the year award.

One season after being named district MVP as a sophomore, lefthanded pitcher Holloman delivered another dominating season on the mound, posting a perfect 5-0 record during district play and giving up just four runs.

Strickland helped lead Lampasas’ high-powered offense as it outscored its district opponents by 100 runs, 114-14. The left fielder split the offensive award with Ashley Elicerio of Hendrickson.

Munoz brought the coach of the year award to Lampasas for a second straight year after navigating the Lady Badgers to a perfect 10-0 record against the district. In 2009, former Lampasas head coach Chris Gaffney won the award.

Hutto’s senior shortstop Kendall Lucas received the district MVP. Freshmen Hanna Contreras, of Lake Travis, and Hallie Wooten, of Marble Falls, were named conewcomers of the year.

Lampasas’ lofty recognition comes on the heels of its second consecutive district championship and a playoff run that reached the regional quarterfinal round before being derailed by defending state champion New Braunfels Canyon.

Marisa Bogart -- last season’s offensive MVP for the district -- continues to fill a big role for Lampasas, serving as a dual threat on defense where she plays both second base and catcher for the Lady Badgers. The junior joins a sophomore trio of Hadley Brown, Kady Crow and Tealey Farquhar on the first team.

Brown, a shortstop, led Lampasas in home runs for the season, while Crow accumulated a perfect 5-0 record as a pitcher when not behind the plate playing catcher. Center fielder Farquhar was the team’s primary lead-off hitter, routinely compiling extra-base hits.

First baseman Madison Morris and right fielder Kallen Vann each received second team recognition following their seasons.

Juniors Jennifer Herron (third baseman), Shelly Holcomb (utility player) and Callyn Smith (outfielder) were all named honorable mentions, giving each Lady Badger a spot on the list.

The Lampasas players also had a standout season off the diamond as 10 Lady Badgers were given academic all-district status, including team manager Morgan Mankowski.

Marble Falls was the only team with more academic all-district members (11). Hutto tied Lampasas with 10.
