The irony of government

Ironic, isn’t it, that the California governor wants to cut everything but his pay or the state legislature’s pay. The governor wants to cut services that are there to benefit the people of his state. This is happening all throughout the country with no relief in sight.

Our taxpaying dollars are being squandered by people who see our money as never ending. Why should they curb spending? We are not forcing them to spend our money wisely. Each year, the congressmen and senators give themselves pay raises with no problem.

There are no term limits for the congressmen or senators, so they can stay till they pass away or have an issue pop up that forces them out. Then after that they receive a hefty retirement plan. The new health care plans they are forcing down our throats are not good enough for them, but we are supposed to swallow it the way it is. The saying “what is good for the goose is good for the gander” comes to mind when thinking about the attitude of the government.

Has our government seen the wonderful health care program in action in Canada? I doubt this 100 percent because from the news I have heard, they don’t even like their health care plan.

Now let’s talk about this “go green” initiative being forced down our throats by our government. The Congress is trying to pass a bill that will have people buy energy-saving windows and a heating and cooling system prior to selling their home. The catch is you cannot sell your home if you do not have them. This goes for mobile homes as well. Yes, the government will help if you are unable to purchase them. I see red tape and hoop jumping in your future. Don’t get me wrong: I am all for saving the plant, but not at the expense of hard-working people trying to sell their homes.

Then you have states and cities beating up on Arizona but without having read the law they are so offended by. Arizona is tired of its citizens being murdered and kidnapped by illegal Mexicans. Arizona is taking care of its people and the citizens are for it, so unless you live in Arizona living their problems back off. We as a society have become judgmental of others without knowing what is truly happening. Just look at Arizona and how people assume they are being racist for wanting to protect their people. Before anyone calls me a racist, I just want to point out my boyfriend is Mexican, a soldier heading to Iraq for his fourth tour, and my daughter is part Mexican.

We as a country need to stand up and tell the elected people enough is enough. We also need to tell the judgmental people out there that unless you have walked a mile in another’s shoes you have no right to judge someone. Pay attention to what the government is shoving down our throats; you would be amazed.
