In recent 27th District Court action with Judge Bill Bachus presiding, Lometa resident James Benedict Abell’s delivery of a controlled substance charge garnered him a 10-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division, probated to 10 years.

Abell, 43, also must comply with terms and conditions of his probation and pay a $1,500 fine.

A two-year TDCJID sentence was probated to five years for Priscilla Rocha Houston, 35, on a charge of theft over $1,500 and under $20,000. She also was ordered to pay $13,500 in restitution.

For theft of service over $1,500 and under $20,000, William Joshua Warren, 32, of Lampasas had an 18-month state jail sentence probated to five years. He must pay a $500 fine and $6,990.38 in restitution.

John Alvin Hull, 30, of Copperas Cove received 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation and a $2,500 fine for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over four grams and less than 200 grams. He also must attend a substance abuse program.

Twenty-two-year-old Lampasas resident Michael James Morton’s one-year county jail sentence was probated to two years, and he was fined $650 for driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age.

For possession/transportation of a chemical with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, Paul Dalton Stewart Jr., 41, of Leander received three years’ deferred adjudication probation and a $500 fine.

For evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, Daniel Scott Somers, 19, of Lampasas was given three years’ deferred adjudication probation and a $750 fine.

A charge of possession of marijuana over four ounces and under five pounds was punished as a misdemeanor, bringing Austin Cullen Smith, 20, of Lampasas two years’ deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine. He must make restitution of $215.

Barbara Kay Howard, 43, of Marble Falls was remanded to jail and had her bond increased to $15,000 after a positive urinalysis test. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance more than one gram and less than four grams. She is set for a June 11 arraignment.

An arrest warrant was issued and bond increased to $20,000 for Jason Wayne Mathenia when he failed to show up for court. The 27-year-old Copperas Cove resident is charged with burglary of a habitation.

June 4 pretrial hearings are set for Kimbrough Fred Estes, 40, of Houston on a charge of criminal non-support; and Charles Anthony Leigh, 33, for assault causing bodily injury family violence enhanced.

Gatesville resident David Ray Sneed, 37, has a June 4 court date for an arraignment for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000.

Pretrial hearings are June 11 for Mark William Jones, 34, of Lampasas for criminal mischief over $1,500 and under $20,000; and Kriste Marie Kelly, 25, of Copperas Cove for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.

A revocation announcement is June 11 for Jeremy Wayne Hutton, 23, of Copperas Cove on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.

Christopher Sean Cowen, 37, of Copperas Cove is set to enter a plea on June 25 for driving while intoxicated, third or more. Also to enter a plea on June 25 is Dale D. Dishman, 45, of Lampasas for false statement for property/credit over $20,000 and under $100,000.
