Bennie Dean “Deanie” McDavid, 78, of Georgetown died May 11 after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services were May 17 at Rock Church Cemetery at Kempner.

She grew up in rural West Texas when her father served overseas with the military, and then in small towns around the South when he worked for the railroad.

Mrs. McDavid was a stay-athome mom before going to work in the 1960s.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Richard and Rebecca Eikenburg; and a cousin.

Memorials may be made to an area no-kill animal shelter.
