Mr. Kincaid

Briggs resident W.H. Kincaid died May 4, 2010, at Seton Medical Center in Williamson County. He was 87.

Graveside services are May 7 at 10 a.m. at Gillum Cemetery at Oakalla with Pastor Lance Sneath officiating.

Mr. Kincaid was born July 21, 1922, in Oakalla, the son of Julius Harris and Vera Virgie Gray Kincaid.

He married Jean Morris on Aug. 2, 1942, in Oakalla.

Mr. Kincaid entered the U.S. Air Force in 1942, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1972.

He flew in the Berlin Airlift as well as regular missions to Vietnam.

Mr. Kincaid also was the owner of Kaiser-Frazier, a car dealer in Lampasas in the 1950s.

He served as pastor of numerous Methodist churches around Texas for many years including Bruceville, Hutto and Nolanville, ending his pastoral career after 30 years of service at both Bertram and Mahomet Christian Churches.

Survivors include one son, Mark Kincaid and wife, Sharyl, of Leander; a daughter, Betty Ann Prewitt and husband, Sherrod, of Hondo; four grandchildren, Dustin Kincaid and wife, Diane, Kelly Kincaid, Wesley Prewitt and wife, Amy, and April Schwab and husband, Rene; and three great-granddaughters, Victoria, Annabel and Sophia.

He was preceded in death by his wife in March 2008; by a brother, Leo; and a sister, Maurene.
