Funeral services for Katherine Smith, 79, of Horseshoe Bay were April 28, 2010, at Briggs-Gamel- Lampasas Funeral Home. Burial was at Smith Cemetery near Kempner.

Mrs. Smith died April 25.

She was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Gorman, to William and Sadie Miller Garrett. She worked a number of years for Southwestern Bell as a dispatch supervisor.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Cheryl S. and Richard Cagle of Baytown; a son, Barry J. Smith of Humble; a sister, Jewel Wood of San Antonio; grandchildren, Holly Cagle, Rachel Smith and Grayson Smith; and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Smith; and an infant son, Gary Lynn Smith.
