Rain, hail recorded

Although a Friday night thunderstorm brought hail to parts of Lampasas County, many property owners avoided significant damage.

Harlan and Laresa Fowler received 1.6 inches of rain, along with pea-sized hail, at their home in Izoro. They reported no weather-related damage.

Barney and Christine Groves got 1.5 inches of rain in Rumley.

North of Lometa, rain totals on Travis and Mary Ann Herring’s ranch varied from one inch on part of the property to 1.5 inches at another location on the ranch.

The wind blew hard enough to shake some leaves off the trees, Herring said, but did not cause property damage.

In Adamsville, about an inch of rain fell on Friday night at Betty Rials’ home. The next morning, Mrs. Rials discovered that the wind had blown water into the Adamsville Community Center. Otherwise, Adamsville avoided significant damage from the storm.

F.A. Taylor received 1.25 inches of rain on Friday at his property east of Kempner, where pea-sized hail also fell.

Lampasas got 0.72 inches of rain on Friday, according to the archives of weather.com.
