Bluebonnet splendor
Lampasas resident Freida Holland took this photograph of some unusually tall bluebonnets in the corner of her backyard. Most of the flowers are 26 inches tall; the largest one is 28 inches. Here, bluebonnets have surrounded this wrought-iron rocking chair. “Nature, God’s paintbrushes, just amazes me,” Mrs. Holland said of the colorful wildflowers. Of the runaway growth, she added, “It’s all because of the rain.”
