Mrs. Cox

Helen Cochran Cox, 67, died April 10, 2010, at her residence in Gatesville after a long battle with cancer.

Graveside services were April 12 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas with Minister Reid Schaub officiating.

Mrs. Cox was born April 5, 1943, in Laural Hill, Fla., to Carvel and Thresa Gatrett Busbee.

She had lived all around the globe but resided in Texas for the last 34 years.

Mrs. Cox worked as a manager and bookkeeper for Farmer’s Mart and JJ’s, and in the food service department for Lampasas and Gatesville independent school districts.

She married James L. Cox on Oct. 7, 1994, and they moved to Gatesville.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Felecia and Jose Vallejo of Lampasas, and Lisa and Kelly Lambert of Abilene; five grandchildren, Josh Ramon, Christa Ramon and Shelby Ramon, all of Lampasas, and Bo Smith and Stormy Smith of Abilene; two sisters, Ellen Knowles of Sampson, Ala., and Sara Grubbs of Taladega, Ala.; and one brother, George Busbee of Goose Creek, S.C.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daryl Busbee and Richard Busbee.
