John Curtis Goodman, 89, died April 2, 2010, at Mission Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Refugio.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Goodman was born Feb. 18, 1921, the son of C.C. and Frances Read Goodman.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and served during World War II in the Panama Canal Zone until the end of the war.
Mr. Goodman was first a cashier and then president of Citizens State Bank in Lometa for many years. He later served as vice president of a newly formed bank, Live Oak State Bank in Rockport, where he remained until his retirement in 1984.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Frankye Scott Goodman; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Frances and Roy Ward; granddaughters and their husbands, Rebecca Hicks and Glen Treybig, and Rachel and Mark Dehn; greatgrandchildren, Adam Hicks, Alexander Dehn, Andrew Dehn and Madysen Dehn.
He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Murtis Goodman; halfbrothers, Merton Parish, Albert Parish and Wayne Goodman; and a half-sister, Leona Squires.
