Couple exchange vows in San Antonio

Cindy and Robert Barkley Cindy Jayne Johnson and Robert “Toot” Barkley, both of Lampasas, were united in marriage in a March 17, 2010, morning ceremony at the Lampasas County Courthouse.

County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of the late J.W. and Pauline Johnson of Austin.

The groom is the son of the late Richard and Jimmie Barkley of Euless.

The bride wore a white, tealength dress with short sleeves, adorned with pearls. She wore a tiara in her hair, and carried a navy blue bouquet she caught at the wedding of Tommy and Vivian Taylor of Lampasas.

The groom’s Labrador retriever, Fritz, was ring bearer.

The couple hosted a reception at VFW Post 8539 on March 21.

Tables were covered with white cloths with peridot accents and were topped with white rose topiaries, tea lights and antique candy dishes belonging to the bride’s grandmother.

Houseparty members included Ann Wenger, Dot Franks, Carolyn Havens and Lu Hughes.

Music was provided by Karaoke by Bill, and a number of songs were performed, including several by the bride, including “If My Heart Had Windows,” “Chapel of Love” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”

The bride’s white sheet cake had peridot greenery and was topped with a lighted, heart-shaped cake topper given by J.W. and Ann Wenger.

The groom’s chocolate cake was topped with the bride and groom cake topper from his parents’ wedding in 1940 in Lampasas County.

Also on the cake table were portraits of the bride and groom as toddlers.

The couple is at home in Lampasas County.

The bride is a teacher for the Lampasas Independent School District, and the groom is a selfemployed horse trainer.
