The Lampasas Badgers varsity baseball team wrapped up its nondistrict portion of the schedule with a loss Friday night at Brownwood.

Lampasas fell down by one run in the first inning before knotting things up at 1-1 in the top of the second.

Unfortunately for the Badgers, the home team responded by posting seven runs in the bottom of the inning to take complete control.

The Lions added three more runs over the next three innings to earn the run-rule victory in the fifth.

Lampasas recorded five hits in the outing, including two by senior Caleb Lowe.

The Badgers open District 25-4A play at home tonight against Hendrickson with the first pitch set to be thrown out at 7 p.m.

The CenTex Run for Compassion will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Goldthwaite.
